Joiner + Furniture maker.
In my shop, custom furniture is brought to life using time-honored traditional techniques including dovetail and mortise + tenon joinery. Using a healthy blend of hand tools and power tools, I craft each piece, one at a time, into something beautiful, functional, and durable. I source local hardwoods and select them for their aesthetic and functional qualities where the natural grain and coloration pops with a clear finish.
My shop is located in Waynesboro, Virginia and I value crafting meaningful pieces for others within my community and surrounding communities of Charlottesville, Harrisonburg, Richmond, and Washington D.C. Each heirloom piece tells a story with a single craftsman behind it, and is carefully crafted to be cherished for many years to come.
Please reach out to me if you’re interested in having a custom piece commissioned for you!

Local Wood.
The Shenandoah Valley has a rich natural history and is home to many unique hardwood forests types that span a gradient of elevations. I source local wood species and select them for their beauty and strength that make each piece unique. My favorite woods to work with are Black Walnut and Cherry, but I also enjoy time spent working in White Oak, Maple, Hickory, and Ash.

Aesthetic Subtleties.
At the heart of woodworking lies joinery. There is a long history of traditional techniques that function better than screws and bolts, while also adding beauty to the piece. Mass-produced furniture distills the design, materials, and construction down until there is a lifeless, rickety object that faintly resembles a piece of furniture. Beyond the big issues, there are many subtleties that a hand-crafted piece reveals: The texture and feel of the wood, a glistening section of grain, the strength of construction. By surrounding ourselves with these subtleties, we bring life and soul into our lives.
